The Pledge

The waters around our island home should be an abundant, healthy, thriving ecosystem filled with fish and marine mammals. As our lifeblood, and the lifeblood of this planet, our oceanic waters create the majority of our oxygen, help control our carbon output and feed and water us, allowing us to live the lives we currently do. But the truth is our waters were one of the first on this planet to be ravaged by human hands and so they have not been seen in their ”natural state” for hundreds of years.

For generations we haven’t glimpsed anywhere near the amount of life our waters should be home to, nor the purity of water that an untouched wilderness should offer, in essence we have been robbed of - or perhaps robbed ourselves of - the ocean this planet could have shown us.

By signing this pledge you, as an islander, give your name to the pursuit of an ocean respected and treasured by humans. An ocean protected and understood by humans. For the future of not only the ocean’s species, but of our own.

We as humans simply cannot survive on this planet without a healthy ocean. Adding your name confirms that you understand the importance of our waters and you have a desire to see those waters thrive.

By signing you are not committing your name to any of our projects, nor showing support for anything other than the reason stated above. We will not use your signing of this pledge in any form or manner that implies you are showing support for anything else we do. We simply want to understand what percentage of the population cares about our waters and the life within them.
