Dive surveys through S21

We will happily take any opportunity to get into the water and explore the world beneath the waves so we have spent plenty of time this spring, summer and autumn with snorkels and cameras actively searching out as many marine species as we can find.

By recording everything we find we are slowly beginning to build a huge collection of location specific data that covers both the types and abundance of species as well as the general health of the each ecosystems and areas, and concurrently identifying potential threats or needed protections that may be specific to each species or location.

In the last three years we have covered - in fair detail - almost the entirely of the Guernsey intertidal coastline with these dives and as we have improved and extended our survey skills we look forward to continuing to build a comprehensive database of the island’s waters.
