The 2021 Herm Loop Run Launch

Whilst October might seem like the wrong time of year to be thinking about inter island paddles we have this week opened entries for our first SUP fund-raising event in aid of our upcoming purchase of a small survey boat. The premise of the event is simple - As a group we stand up paddle board from Bordeaux Harbour to the north coast of Herm, complete one full lap of Herm Island and then paddle back across the Little Russell to Bordeaux, a complete distance of around 15km.

I appreciate that might seem like a daunting paddle for some people but it one a few of our team have completed on a number of occasions and it isn’t quite as taxing as you might expect. It will take a fair amount of energy and grit to complete but for those people who are looking to expand their stand up skills this group event - with support boat and team - is a great way to push yourself and help us raise some money for a vessel that is much needed in helping us continue to work to protect the islands waters.
